A flow field south of Ozza Mons in Atla Regio consists of numerous adjacent and overlapping flows with varying degrees of brightness. Brightness in radar images is related to several factors such as surface roughness, emissivity and the dielectic constant of the material. Emissivity is a measure of how well an object approximates a perfect blackbody radiator. It is controlled primarily by the dielectric constant. Material of high dielectric constant is generally a good reflector. This image is Copyright © by Calvin J. Hamilton. Any commercial/for-profit use of this image needs to be addressed to Calvin J.
