This Voyager 2 picture of Saturn has had its rings and shadows "cosmetically" removed. Most of the current theories about Saturn's rings say that the rings are probably younger than 100,000,000 years and are not stable. This view is a representation of Saturn as it might have appreared 100 million years ago or how it might appear sometime in the distant future. |
