In order to generate this pseudo-image of Saturn's rings, composition study mosaics were made of the A, B, and C rings. The mosaics were created from pictures taken on August 23, 1981 by Voyager 2. A 3 pixel wide slice was taken from the most detailed part of the mosaic, averaged to a 1 pixel wide image, then rotated 360 degrees and projected into this perspective view.
